Friday night’s action brought an improved performance from Chivas against Morelia, that despite not resulting in a win, at least showed some fight and lifted them off the foot of the table. Trailing early after Edgar Andrade’s firm finish, Chivas improved greatly after the break. Several missed chances and a goal disallowed for offside it looked as though it may be another bad day for Guadalajara. However, Hector Mancilla’s red card 5 minutes from the end enabled Chivas to push on and in the final minute, youngster, William Guzman found the equaliser on his debut. Later in Tijuana, Los Xolos hopes of reaching La Liguilla look all but over, as they drew 0-0 with Tigres. There were chances particularly with Tigres having Jose Rivas sent off but neither side could find a goal. Tigres have some work still to do to make the playoff with 3 games to play.
