The interest in Carlos Vela continues to grow as Spanish newspaper, Marca have reported that Atlético Madrid has made the Real Sociedad striker an ‘irrestible’ offer. This is coming off the back of rumoured interest from city rivals, Real Madrid and Arsenal.
The current La Liga champions are certainly on the look-out for replacements given that Diego Costa is set to finalise a move to Chelsea and David Villa has already joined the MLS’s latest side, New York City FC.
The figure quoted that Atlético would pay for the 25-year-old Mexican is €10 million which is obviously considerably more than Arsenal could purchase Vela for, if they exercise their buy-back option.
However, Vela and Arsenal do not appear all that keen on this move given how slowly things have developed. Either way as the transfer speculation gathers pace it becomes more clear that Vela will certainly not be playing for Real Sociedad next season.
