Morelia are resigned to losing Ecuadorian winger, Jefferson Montero in the coming weeks as interest from Europe mounts. Teams from England, Italy and Spain are all battling to take the tricky, 24-year-old wide player and Morelia President, Pablo Boy said, “Montero will surely go to play in Europe.”
Montero has just finished playing at the World Cup with Ecuador and so a transfer is likely to take place over the coming days with Swansea being one of many teams to make an enquiry.
Boy also revealed that Liga MX rivals, Club América had made an offer for Montero but the player was not interested in moving within México and will instead wait for a move to Europe.
At 24, despite a failed move to Villarreal already in his career, Montero is a very attractive proposition to many sides. A natural winger, Montero has pace and skill as well as an eye for goal and his loss to Morelia will be another sides gain.
