Monterrey have joined Club América at the top of the table, at least for the time being, with a narrow 1-0 win away to Querétaro. Chilean, Humberto Suazo was on hand to round off a devasting break after Dorlán Pabon squared the ball and put Los Rayados in front just before half time. The solitary goal was enough to give Carlos Barra’s side a valuable three points on the road. Later, in the Estadio Caliente, Tijuana were held to a 1-1 draw against Leones Negros. Juan Arango gave Los Xolos the lead after 23 minutes when he unleashed a unstoppable 30-yard, left foot drive which clattered into the net via the underside of the bar. It looked like it might be the winner but with 15 minutes remaining, former Tijuana striker, Fidel Martínez fired Leones Negros level. The away point meant the newly promoted side leap-frogged Chivas in the relegation table.
