Pumas snatch win in the Azteca and Puebla, Chiapas and Pachuca all pick up points (VIDEO)

Pumas ended Club América’s unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 victory in the Azteca. After a host of missed opportunities it took a heavily deflected Dante López shot in the 88th minute to give Pumas a much needed win against city rivals. 41-year-old, Cuauhtemoc Blanco inspired Puebla to come from behind and defeat Morelia 3-2 in the aptly named Estadio Cuauhtémoc, Wilberto Cosme’s second goal of the game proved decisive. Chiapas hauled themselves back into the playoff picture with a 2-0 win away to Tigres thanks to goals from Bruno Pires and Emiliano Armenteros and León’s poor start to the season continued as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat in the Camp Nou to Pachuca. Los Tuzos were able to capitalise on La Fiera having Ignacio Gonzalez sent off early and Hirving Lozano’s superb brace proved to be enough. Finally, Atlas picked up another point after a 1-1 draw with Santos. A comically defended goal gifted Santos the lead but Javier Orozco’s wonderful curling shot levelled things.

Puebla  3 – 2  Morelia

Tigres  0 – 2  Chiapas
