Javier Hernández scored his first goals for Real Madrid in a thumping 8-2 victory over Deportivo de la Coruña earlier. The Mexican striker was only introduced in the 77th minute when he replaced Gareth Bale but it took Chicharito no time to leave a mark. Perhaps surprisingly, Hernández scored twice from outside the box, a feat he didn’t manage in 102 appearances for Manchester United and although the second was aided by a deflection, the first was a beautifully struck volley.
The goals are not only a reminder of Chicharito’s ability but good news for El Tri as Hernández’s confidence had obviously suffered enormously while sitting on the bench under David Moyes. A smiling and confident Chicharito will be a useful weapon to both Madrid and México.
