Club América maintained their fine league form with another routine three points in the Estadio Azteca. Veracruz were the victims on Wednesday evening as goals from Michael Arroyo and Paul Aguilar gave Las Águilas a two-goal half time lead that Turco Mohamed’s side never really looked like relinquishing. Pumas came from a goal behind against Puebla to snatch a late 2-1 win and remain on the cusp of La Liguilla. Luis Noriega had given Puebla a first half lead but a second half brace from Eduardo Herrera turned the game and left Pumas very much in the mix for a playoff spot. Ariel Nahuelpan headed the only goal of the game in just the fourth minute to give Pachuca a win against Morelia in the Estadio Morelos and with Wednesday’s other matches ending in draws, the big winners were Chivas. Veracruz’s earlier defeat was followed by Leones Negros drawing 1-1 away to Chiapas and Tijuana ended goalless with Cruz Azul meaning that none of Los Rojiblancos relegation rivals managed to pick up points.

Puebla  1 – 2  Pumas

Club América  2 – 0  Veracruz

Morelia  0 – 1  Pachuca

Chiapas  1 – 1  Leones Negros

Tijuana  0 – 0  Cruz Azul
