Results had gone the way of Chivas on Wednesday but it was important that Carlos Bustos’ side took advantage when they travelled to the Estadio Nemesio Díez to face Toluca. Unfortunately like so often in recent memory, Los Rojiblancos were outgunned by superior opponents as the threat of relegation still looms large. Paulo Da Silva headed Los Diablos in front and although Paraguayan, Richard Ortiz provided a gift of an equaliser when he sliced the ball into his own net, the reprieve was momentary. Edgar Benítez struck with two goals in two minutes to put Toluca firmly in command and they held on for victory. In the aftermath, with the pressure cranked up to eleven, under-fire Chivas boss, Carlos Bustos resigned and so a press conference is expected later on Friday to see who will take over the reigns.
