Ronaldinho may have picked up his third Liga MX goal but he could not prevent Querétaro slipping to another defeat as Darío Benedetto struck in injury time to give Tijuana a 2-1 win. The Brazilian superstar headed Los Gallos Blancos in front but a superb free kick from Juan Arango on the hour mark brought Xolos level and then in injury time, Argentine striker, Benedetto headed a late winner to lift Tijuana into the playoff spots momentarily. Earlier, Veracruz picked up a valuable away win to improve their standings in the descenso table over a Morelia side still rooted to the bottom of the Apertura league table. Keko Villalva’s smart lob put Los Tiburones Rojos in front and before half time they were given a further boost when Morelia missed the chance to level as David Depetris failed to convert two penalties. The first saved illegally by Edgar Hernández and then the retaken second put wide of the post. Villalva had a chance of his own from the spot after the break but failed to extend the lead.
Morelia 0 – 1 Veracruz
